I thought this was a great book. It’s about Mason Buttle, a big, sweaty kid with learning disabilities. His best friend, Benny, recently died under mysterious circumstances and Mason was the last one who saw him. He gets constantly interrogated by Lieutenant Baird, who suggests foul play. Mason made a new friend named Alvin Chumskey and Alvin lives in his neighborhood. They keep getting bullied by Lance and Matt who play lacrosse near Mason’s house. I would recommend this book mostly to 5th and 6th graders that love a great mystery/adventure book.
Maybe because Mason is picked on by a lot of people and sometimes people follow groups. Or maybe because he was such a big kid people thought that. Some people judge others by their appearances.
I wish I had a friend like Mason Buttle. He has a big heart and he really cares about people. Why do you think Lt. Baird was so suspicious of Mason?
