About This Blog
Each year kids in Vermont, grades 4 to 8, are encouraged to read books from a list of 30 titles. In April, kids throughout Vermont vote on their favorite title, & the book that receives the most votes is the winner of the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award. Here follows the list for 2009/10. Read some or read them all. Post your thoughts here!

My school is doing DCF this year as they do every year. I am really looking forward to reading all of these books and going on the trip! (I hope I make the trip)

DCF is awsome but the problem is i think the people who reads the most should go not the people who read like 2 books last year, i read 18 books and my friend (not naming) only read 1 book and got to go i told my mom and she is dissapointed to. And it was unfair that the auther of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid was there.. my friend told me that and that a other person came or maybe one school from the district should come 2 at a time maybe it would be easier maybe more expensive but more easier to and it would be much more fair! And ther should be more different books too. Not Baby books but maybe The Cligue or the princess diarys. All the bookd are to easy from me.

If you go to the web site at you will see a link to “Students Nominations.” You can use the form there to recommend books to the committee that selects them. It also describes which books are eligible. Have fun!

DCF is really fun because the choicers get to pick random books to read and it’s really fun!
