The Thing about Jellyfish

on August 26, 2016

After her best friend dies in a drowning accident, Suzy is convinced that the true cause of the tragedy must have been a rare jellyfish sting—things don’t just happen for no reason. Retreating into a silent world of imagination, she crafts a plan to prove her theory–even if it means traveling the globe, alone.

This book has a lot of detail. I feel bad for Suzy. This book was very well written. Each chapter was written in deferent format. Some told about Franny. Others were in the real time telling about what Suzy was going through.

The Thing About Jellyfish is about this girl named Suzy her she came to school one day, And her mom cry she was wondering what was going on. Her mom said the Suzy’s friend Franny had drowned on her vacation in Maryland. Then when Suzy was at the aquarium she saw a jellyfish and wondered if that is how franny drowned

I absolutely loved this book. It was very unique how the ideas intertwined and came together. I really wanted to know if Suzy’s theory was correct. One of the many things that I did like was how Ali Benjamin wrote the chapters of what happened before the drowning accident. I read this book agin after I finished it because I loved it so much. I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading realistic fiction.

I think The Thing About Jellyfish is a good book because it was different how Franny drowned and Suzy thought is was because of a jellyfish sting. I think that it is a very unique and awesome book and I would definitely read it again.
