This book is really good, it’s about a Chinese girl that tries to get used to her grandmothers sister, she has to go to a Chinese school and she doesn’t want to go. what will happen? Will she over come some bullies?
I thought it was kind of funny that when Lucy realized the sides weren’t even, and she changed them, Po changed them back.
I like it how Lucy made a wall of her furniture in her room to separate her and Po.
I truly enjoyed this book because I found it to be very inspiring. The only thing that I would change about this book is taking away the bully, because most stories these days involve bullies.
Do you think there are more bullies in books than in real life? Why do you think the author included a bully in this one? — Kate Davie
I loved this book because I made a connection to Lucy
Can you tell us what that connection was? — Kate Davie
I liked the great wall of lucy wu because lucy thinks she is poing to have a bad summer but she doesn’t. It turns out well this book was interesting but very long.
I am on the second chapter and I think this would be my favorite out of all the DCF books because Lucy is just like me.
Are you basketball player too? Or is there something else about Lucy that is like you? — Kate Davie
I didn’t continue this book after the first chapter. I didn’t think it was a bad book, it was just a little slow and wasn’t really catchy. I think people who like to learn about different cultures, like the chinese culture, would realy enjoy this book even though I barly read any of it.
This book was among the best books I’ve ever read. I love the fact that it includes some real history about the war in china, and at the same time tells a story about a sixth grader who is a normal person but has had some special events happen.

Dear Abenaki, I also agree that it is the best book ever and I still love it.
I’d recomend this book to people who likes to read long chapter books and set goals for themselves.
At first I thought it was boring because it had no pictures, but then I read a couple more pages and I liked it so much it was like I fell in to a trap and couldn’t get out.
When I saw this book on the computer I thought it was a children’s book.
Hence the old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” — Kate Davie
I thought this book would be bogus but I really liked it. I do love basketball a lot and Lucy was very brave to stand up for herself.
