Whew, two novels on this year’s list that I’ve read so far (this and Masterpiece) weave famous artists’ work into the story. I quite like that. I loved Chasing Vermeer and The Calder Game. I suppose it’s time I read The Wright 3!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is so good that I ate, got ready for school, and went to bed reading. It is a great setting, a small english town where none appriciate humor. It is a wonderful mystery, a kid with the same name as the artist who made the scupture that goes missing at the same time. I wonder how Petra and Tommy got plane tickets. Did the police give them to them?

I thought that the Calder Game was really good! I couldn’t put it down, I thought that Blue Balliett did a really good job of leaving the reader in suspense he did this by having really good cliff hangers. It is definitly a must read. I liked it because it has a really good plot and I also liked how they summoned Petra and Tommy to England because it made the book much more interesting. I can’t wait to read The Wright Three! My favorite part was when they found Calder and the whole story unraveled.

    Dear Hami,

Why is it interesting? Do you think it had suspense? I did.

dear Hami222, what did you like about the vocabulary? I also thought that the vocabulary was awsome because it was a really interesting chose of words.

Umm, in actual fact, Blue Balliett is a “she.” I hope that doesn’t change your opinion of the book!

  • 17.    katedavie  |  October 30th, 2009 at 9:26 am

Can anybody who has read this book more recently than I have clarify this point?

  • 18.    stevemadden  |  November 3rd, 2009 at 7:22 am

What point exactly? Whether Blue is actually “she”, or how Tommy and Petra get the plane tickets, or the really interesting choice of words that the author uses?

    1. Yes, she is.
    2. “As Mrs. Sharpe put it,…” (p. 142).
    3. Definitely of interest to many! WISH ART FREE…

The point in question, (my question and Petrarocks’) was how Tommy and Petra get the plane tickets.

Answer to Question #4 — Yes, I am having trouble getting a grip on the “reply” function!

I hope this gets a sequel! I love reading all about what happens to Petra and Tommy!

I thought this book was great. It shows how friends can work together to accomplish something. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I recommend this book to every one who likes suspense.

I thought this book was very interesting but I thought the plot was lacking a bit of reason and reality.
