I really liked this book because you would not really know what would happen next. Also it had a lot of good characters in it. My favorite character would have to be astrophil the spider.

I didn’t enjoy this book very much because it was hard to get into and I found it slightly boring. I can understand why some people might enjoy it, though.

I loved this book for it really grasps your imagination. It is confusing for some people but I am lucky to understand it. It’s a very well thoughtout book and so far, i’m voting for it.

I went to Prague in the Czech Republic awhile ago, and the city is every bit as magical as this book!! It was fun to make the connection while I was reading the book. I also connected it to the website that was mentioned on last year’s DCF blog, which related to the automata in The Invention of Hugo Cabret: http://www.getty.edu/art/exhibitions/devices/flash/
Check it out!

Ok, I admit, if I HAD to chose a favorite character, then yes, it would be astrophil the spider.

Well, together we are achieving balance and harmony — Astrophil gave me the willies! And I usually like spiders.

My personal opinion is — older. I think the whole eye thing is very disturbing, and I would be reluctant to share it with someone of a tender young age.

In order for a book to be on the DCF list, it has to have been published the previous year. So The Lightning Thief doesn’t qualify anymore. Sorry!

I found this book hard to get into, but after I did, I couldn’t put it down. It’s got plenty of suprises. This book really makes you think about the choices you come across in life.
