I am reading Diamond Willow with my Afterschool program students and they are really into it. They got tingles when the secret of “Diamond” was revealed. I do have to say that the group is all girls, and would like to see what boys think of this book. I, personally, loved it. It also inspired them to work on their own shape poems which is a great project. I hope to have them blog soon.

I found this book very interesting and slightly sad when Roxy gets injured. I loved how some chapters were told by different people. I would reccomend it to anyone who is willing to read it the way it was meant to be read.

Kelty16, I would be interested to hear how you think this book was “meant to be read”!

I love the way there are a mixture of emotions such as sadness, happiness, anger, trust, and friendship. I also like the way there is a message on almost every page that is told by the main character. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a eye opening book that you just can’t stop turning the pages.

I really enjoyed this book. I really liked how the text was written in diamonds on the page. I also liked the bold messages that were hidden in the text. I would also like to know what kelty16 thought was the ” correct way of reading it”

I think it should be read so people really undestand different peoples points of veiws. Also, people should be able to realate with one of the characters. I feel like I related to Willow because I feel a strong connection between my dog and I.

I liked the diamond shaped poems, also the messages in each page. The book was sad, then happy which I liked also.

I loved this book because Diamond is a very independent girl, but soon needs her friends to rely on. This heartwarming book will make you laugh, cry, and even say “wow” outloud. You will never want to put this book down once you pick it up.

I really enjoyed the book but I really don’t do well with sad books so I almost couldn’t finish it.

It was nice to see that she promised to keep the secret of her dog Roxy safe with her. I also like that the bold letters in the story revealed another little story.

this book was actually good…usually I’m not one for the sled dog thing but I really liked this book. The text being in diamonds was a little distracting, but it made sense. The climax was so intense! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good adventure and mystery story.
